Malaria
Hazards |
I have faced
the threat before both in South America and
sub-Saharan Africa. The mosquitoes have not
changed their habits in the intervening years,
so I must plan to do battle. By all accounts,
the local urban medical establishment is usually
best equipped to advise on preventatives and
treat any illness. Wherever I am, I'll medicate
locally prior to entering each infested area.
Online references include the
CDC, reference specifically on malaria and
the general
CDC traveler's site. |
