Coober Pedy - Lobby of the Experience Motel with its underground cave sleeping rooms. The walls of my room, carved from opal bearing sandstone contained several veins of the precious gem.

Coober Pedy - Above ground entrance to the Experience Motel with its underground cave sleeping rooms. Operated by the Revival Centres International organization, I found evangelizing materials in the bedside table drawer.

Coober Pedy - Arriving by bus after sunset and finding no lodge near the bus stop, I wandered around the sparsely populated town asking anyone where I might find somewhere to sleep for the night. Finally, a desk clerk at a fully booked hotel suggested the Experience Motel off in the dark some half dozen blocks distant. With some difficulty I eventually found the place and the obscure entrance door.
