Hello from Cappadocia Turkey,

NOTES: from memory in August 2012.

I stayed in a very nice hotel in the outskirts of Nevsehir, the largest town in the vicinity of the Cappadocia underground excavations around Goreme. One day I wandered around the hills climbing in and out of some of the "caves" chopped into the stone outcroppings around the town. A teenage boy took an interest in my activities and became my impromptu guide, even arranging to show me the inside of his cave home much to the embarrassment of his mother.

When I left the hotel after the first night on a bus headed toward Malatya I discovered I'd forgotten my airline tickets left in the room safe back at the hotel. So, I stopped the bus and worked my way back to the starting point some thirty miles distant.

I'm sure I took photographs, but so far haven't found them.

Peace

Fred L Bellomy

Minox-B "spy" camera I used while traveling during the last millennium. It is a beautiful piece of German technology and a pleasure to fondle. Unfortunately, the resolution of even snapshots is not very good. The chain/lanyard contains beads used for precisely measuring distance to secret documents the agent is trying to photograph!
