Bangkok Thailand: Another city shrine, this one
containing a statue of a god with four faces and four arms.
Bangkok Thailand: Exterior view of the $25 Grace Hotel where I stayed while
in Bangkok. I'd been there several days before discovering it is located
smack dab in the middle of the Arab quarter and the hotel catered to middle
eastern travelers... including at least one Iraqi.
Bangkok Thailand: A fiew of the buildings along the banks of the river
during my hour boat trip up the river.

Hello
from Bangkok Thailand.
This stop kept me in the
city eleven days to take care of several medical needs:
dental, ear pain, and comprehensive physical checkup. My
right ear has been causing discomfort since before I left on
this current excursion. The excellent Bumrungrad Hospital
offers a very affordable ($400) physical checkup and dental
services are a bargain by comparison with costs back home.
During my seven month exploration of Southeast Asia I passed
through Bangkok several times, taking many photos during
each visit. If you are crazy about photographs taken around
Bangkok, you might want to check out my several other pages
for trips in other years as well.
Peace

Bangkok Thailand: Details of the offerings
placed in front of one of the pictures of the king located near the
Nana district Skytrain terminal.
Bangkok Thailand: Another little shrine tucked in among some shrubs.
Bangkok Thailand: A newspaper article about the Bumrungrad Hospital
where I got "the works." Their very affordable ($275) Comprehensive
Health Checkup Package would have cost eight times that much in
Santa Barbara.
Bangkok Thailand: A poster showing the world wide locations of JCI
Accredited Hospitals of which the Bumrungrad is one.
Bangkok Thailand: There really are a lot of monks riding the boats
from one temple to another located along the river bank. I think
they ride free.
Bangkok Thailand: A fiew of the buildings along the banks of the
river during my hour boat trip up the river.
Bangkok Thailand: Some of the elegant offerings placed at each of
the shrines; this one near the World Trade Center. In addition to
all the food I noticed a package of cigarettes in this collection!
Bangkok Thailand: Information about Ganesha near the shrine.
Bangkok Thailand: One of the ferryboats running up and down the
river near Bangkok.
Bangkok Thailand: Passengers on a ferryboat that took me an hour up
the river.

Bangkok Thailand: Segregation on the riverboats of Bangkok... or is it
privilege of the calling?
Bangkok Thailand: Every ferry has several of these reminders to let the
monks sit down. Still, I saw many yellow robes standing in clusters.
Bangkok Thailand: Typical shot of street vendors in Chinatown.
Bangkok Thailand: No. This is not the fixings for a picnic: just some of the
elegant offerings placed at this street shrine; this one near the World
Trade Center.
Bangkok Thailand: Offerings at the alter by the statue of Ganesha.
Bangkok Thailand: At the riverfront.
Bangkok Thailand: Near the ferryboat dock I spotted this flotsam.
